It feels apt to start with a congratulations to our members who orchestrated and contributed to the Irish Times article on Group Analytic Psychotherapy in February. The article gave a very accessible outline of group analytic psychotherapy and was also a creative advertising space for the training in TSOP.
The article also highlighted the lack of a user-friendly IGAS website that is both public facing and serves the membership of IGAS. The work on the development of a new website is about to begin and if anyone is interested in being part of a sub-group that will oversee its development, please get in touch at askigas@gmail.com. In the meantime, while this work gets underway, I am inviting any member who is running a group analytic therapy group to send the details of the group and where and when it meets to Melanie so she can compile an up-to-date list of groups as members of the public often contact us to make enquiries.
Our AGM and an EGM to vote on the proposed new constitution will be held via Zoom on Saturday morning 13th May with a 10am start. You have by now had several communications about the proposed new constitution and this document provides us with a robust and user-friendly document that underpins the work of IGAS. The AGM is also an opportunity to put yourself forward for election onto the committee to continue the work that is being done.
I’m very pleased to tell you that Belinda Moller has joined the board of the psychoanalytic section of ICP where she will replace me and with Helen Jones will represent IGAS.
She has also joined the board of ICP representing the psychoanalytic section and replaces me there too.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the EGM and AGM on May 13th.
Best regards,
Mary Logue
